How to have the best recital ever!

Recital is just around the corner (on June 11th at the Baker Park Bandshell) and we are ALL getting very excited to see our dancers on stage. With beautiful costumes, bright lights, and incredible dances. It’s going to be the event of the year at District Dance!

We know there are a lot of details that go into this one performance. Our mission is to make the event stress-free for our dancers and parents. Below are our top three tips to make that happen!

  1. Visit our recital webpage and read through everything… twice! As we mentioned above, there are a lot of details to remember for this one event. Taking a few minutes to read through everything a week or so in advance will give you the stress-free recital you desire!
  2. Pack your child’s bag the day before! Don’t wait until recital day to track down your dance shoes, bobby pins, and other essentials. You may notice you need new hairspray or snacks for the big day. The last thing you will want to do on the day of recital is make an emergency trip to the drug store!
  3. Practice recital hair and makeup before the big day! Getting the recital look is a little different from our everyday hair and makeup routine. Eliminate some day-of stress by practicing beforehand. If you have younger dancers, this is also great for them! They can get used to how it feels to have stage makeup on and you can try out a few strategies to get them to sit still for a few minutes.

Above all, we encourage our dancers and parents to enjoy the moment! Recital goes fast and is over in a flash. Use our tips to prepare ahead of time so you can be present for all of the precious moments! You will not want to miss a second of seeing your students shine on stage!

Our 2022 recital is on Saturday, June 11 with shows at 11:00 am, 1:00 pm, and 3:00 pm. Please visit our recital page for more information and to purchase tickets.

It’s going to be a great performance, we can’t wait!
