Alright parents, we are mid-way through summer vacation, how are you feeling?! Are your kids bored yet? Are they on your last nerve yet? If you are already counting down the days until the first day of school, today’s blog is for YOU!
We’ve lined up 6 of the BEST kids activities in Germantown and we are PUMPED to share them with you. Bookmark, screenshot, and save this list to your desktop because we promise it will come in handy during your final summer stretch and as you think ahead to next school year!
1. District Dance Co.
Now we know we are a little biased, but we couldn’t leave ourselves off this list!
Our summer is chugging along over here at District Dance, and we only have 4 more camps left before we pack away the confetti for next year! Each themed week-long camp includes a unique storyline, crafts, games, dance routines, outdoor playtime, and an end-of-week performance! Head over to our website to learn more about our summer camps!

2. Washingtonian Paddle Boats at RIO Lakefront
This one is unique because it’s a chance to get your kids outdoors! These HUGE animal-shaped paddle boats will be sure to spark some excitement. Kids love choosing between the swans, dragons, and ducks! On top of enjoying the beautiful view of the lake, you and your kids will also get some exercise in! Be sure to take advantage of these boats before summer comes to a close.
3. Color Me Mine Pottery Studio in Rockville, MD
At District Dance, we LOVE finding other local businesses that get kids’ creative side working! At Color Me Mine, kids have the opportunity to paint a piece of pottery however they choose! Painting their creations keeps them occupied for hours, and more importantly, gets their creative juices flowing. After you finish, the staff glazes your pottery with a beautiful finish that will last forever! Memories in the making! 🙂
4. Code Ninjas
Staring at age 7, Code Ninjas introduces kids to coding! They will have SO much fun building and playing that they won’t realize they are gaining valuable math, problem-solving, and logic skills. We love how students can pop in during student hours and work at their own pace through the core curriculum and earn colored belts to make their progress! If you have a child that loves Minecraft and video games this would be a perfect opportunity for them to dive deeper into their interests. Learn more on their website!
5. La Farfalla Music
This one might be our favorite on this list… after all, music is a dancer’s BEST friend. La Farfalla specializes in kids birthday parties but they also offer fun programs for kids. At their Do Re Mi music classes, preschoolers dance, sing, and play a variety of instruments. In addition, their Musical Story Time uses instruments and singing to tell a magical story. 6. BounceU
This one is a Clarksburg family classic! Their amazing facility filled with blow up obstacle courses will get your kids moving and their faces grinning. They offer Open Bounce time for one-time visitors and an EVEN BETTER Parents Night Out program. Check out the details here!
