PICTURE DAY SCHEDULE – Saturday & Sunday, June 3 – 4 – EXCEL / PDF
District Dance Co. presents Radio Rewind an exciting dance performance featuring top radio hits from yesterday and today. This year we are hosting our dance recital at Clarksburg High School. We will hold two performances that will last approximately 1.5 hours each in length. These performances will be made up of original choreography by our amazingly talented dance staff.
Picture day will be held on Saturday, June 3rd and Sunday, June 4th. Picture day takes place in our studio. Each class will have a 10-15 minute block of time for their class and individual picture. Our professional photographers are the wonderful staff from Great American Photo. Photos will be available in an online gallery for parents to view and purchase.
Picture Day is an opportunity to have professional photos of your dancer in costume, both individually and with the entire class. If you do not wish to purchase photos, we would appreciate it if you would still attend the photo session so both the studio and other dancers can have a picture of the entire class. Please note for personal safety and because of the expensive equipment, the photographers do not allow parents in the studio with their child.
Picture Day usually runs very smoothly and we often find ourselves ahead of schedule! Please be on time…in costume, hair done, with light make-up on. If taking photos for more than one class, please bring all costumes with you. Dancers in multiple classes requiring a costume change may change in the areas specified within our studio. All other dancers must arrive in costume.
Our annual dance recital is designed to give our dancers the experience and knowledge of performing in a live show while allowing family and friends the opportunity to see the results of your children’s hard work. Live performance is an essential step in the development of young dancers and allows them the opportunity to demonstrate the skills they have learned throughout the year.
Details and Information
Managing the great number of participants and producing a quality show each year requires careful planning and organization. In making the choice to participate in the annual dance recital, the student, and/or guardian (if student is under the age of 18 years old), is actively agreeing to not only the dance recital performance, but the entire recital process which includes but is not limited to the student’s consistent and active participation in dance class, rehearsals and mandatory attendance at the dress rehearsal.
Our annual dance recital is not mandatory, but we hope all dancers will participate. Once committing to participate in the annual recital, the recital payments are mandatory. It is the student’s and/or guardian’s responsibility to read, understand, and agree to all requirements and restrictions. It is the student’s and/or guardian’s responsibility to keep informed regarding any information about dancer’s participating in the annual dance recital.
Tickets can be purchased online for $15 (plus a small ticketing fee). Everyone ages 2 and over needs a ticket. District Dance Co. dancers do not need a ticket to either show regardless of if they are dancing in the show. There is no limit to the number of tickets you can purchase. A few tickets will be available at the door, but we prefer all tickets be ordered in advance.
Congratulate your dancer with a beautiful bouquet of flowers at the recital. Ordering is easy and takes only a couple minutes. One last thing for you to remember on show day! We have two beautiful bouquet options this year. See below!
Hosting a successful dance Recital requires months of planning and many helping hands. We need your help! All volunteer opportunities are listed below on VolunteerSpot.com. We hope you will join us in making this year’s Recital a wonderful experience for all of our dancers and families! Volunteers and class moms do not need a ticket to the show they are volunteering for. Volunteer opportunities are based on a first come, first serve basis.
Class Moms – The most important parent volunteer job is Class Mom. These moms stay with their class group during rehearsals and the Recital to help keep everyone calm, happy and organized in the dressing rooms and backstage. Please consider signing up to be your child’s Class Mom. All Class Moms will be able to watch their child perform from a special reserved seating section in the front of the audience or backstage! Class moms will not need a ticket.
